Psalm 31:1-8
1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.2 Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;8 And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
