1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
